BRUKER NANO ANALYTICS PRESENTS IN COOPERATION WITH DRAGONFLY ENERGY:

Elemental Mapping (EDS) for the Optimization of Battery Materials and Processes

On-Demand Session - 57 minutes

Battery Characterization and Optimization using Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy

The improvement of battery cell chemistries and manufacturing processes is critical in achieving a clean energy economy. In practice – energy density, charge/discharge ratings, and cell longevity are linked to electrochemical reactions inside the cell and structural features that form because of manufacturing or cycling. In general, optimization of all these parameters is a multiscale, multimodal challenge which includes analysis of the anode, cathode, electrolyte, and their respective interfaces.

In this webinar, we focus on energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) coupled with other characterization techniques to see how their usage can offer critical insights regarding cell performance and failure diagnostics.

Enrichments of certain elements or contaminants can be present in these materials on concentration levels, which are beyond the sensitivity level of single spectrum-based EDS analysis.

We will demonstrate how Bruker ESPRIT element mapping software tools in combination with the high sensitivity XFlash® 760 and FlatQUAD detectors can be utilized as a powerful method for localized element analysis down to the ppm scale.

Don't miss this chance to expand your knowledge of advanced SEM techniques for battery research and development.

Who Should Attend?

  • Battery manufacturers.
  • Researchers involved in battery development.
