The race to high field magnets has driven the nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) fields over the past four decades. This has been accompanied with redefining over time the low- and high-field instruments and its evolution has diverged depending on the disciplines including between the preclinical and clinical field. 

In this talk, Dr. Wadghiri will be sharing through examples and workflow, his own recent preclinical experience with the new Bruker 3-Tesla BioSpec and some of the advantage it offers.

Dr. Youssef Z. Wadghiri, is an Associate Professor of Radiology and the founding Director of the Preclinical Imaging Core at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine as part of the NYU Langone Health. His overall research has been dedicated in the development of non‐invasive strategies to facilitate the collection of anatomical, functional and molecular data on experimental models of human disease. Dr. Wadghiri's latest work has led to several significant contributions using imaging and targeted labeling techniques: the first in vivo observation of Alzheimer's plaques in transgenic models, the first in vivo mapping establishing neuronal transport impairment in direct correlation with Tau pathology as well as more recently the first self‐assembly protein monitored by fluorine NMR and imaging. Dr. Wadghiri has authored over 54 peer‐reviewed publications, 6 book chapters, 3 editorials, and 152 proceedings at international conferences. He has served as a reviewer on many scientific journals and funding agencies. He holds multiple international honors, awards, and 4 patents.
