Operando NMR Methods for Redox Flow Batteries and Ammonia Synthesis

Webinar Overview

Join us for an insightful webinar led by Dr. Evan Wenbo Zhao, focusing on operando NMR and EPR methods applied to redox flow batteries and ammonia synthesis. Discover how these non-invasive, atom-specific techniques provide critical insights into the structure-function relationships of electrochemical devices. The session will include case studies showcasing the use of benchtop NMR for monitoring state of charge and degradation mechanisms in redox flow batteries, as well as in situ NMR techniques for observing lithium-mediated ammonia synthesis processes.

Wednesday, 13 November 2024, 4PM CET

Key Learning Topics

  • Application of coupled inline NMR and EPR in redox flow batteries
  • Case studies on benchtop NMR for degradation and charge monitoring
  • In situ NMR techniques for lithium-mediated ammonia synthesis

What To Expect

Gain a comprehensive understanding of how coupled inline NMR and EPR methods are enhancing the study of redox flow batteries and ammonia synthesis, offering new strategies to optimize these technologies.

Who Should Attend

This webinar is ideal for researchersand professionals in the fields of electrochemistry, energy storage, and chemical engineering, as well as anyone interested in advanced characterization techniques.

Speaker

Dr. W. Zhao

Assistant professor at the Magnetic Resonance Research Center of Radbound University, Nijmegen, Netherlands

Dr. Zhao co-pioneered the operando NMR methods for studying redox flow batteries, during his postdoc time with Clare Grey from the University of Cambridge. He and his research team in Nijmegen are developing long-lasting and energy-dense redox flow batteries for stationary applications.
