Transformer oil is an important coolant for large transformers and provides electrical insulation. Due to thermal stress, oxygen and other contaminations the antioxidant will degrade and its concentration decreases over time. Therefore it‘s important to regularly check the levels of antioxidants in the oil and our Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR) solution is a quick and effective way to measure how much antioxidant is in the insulating oil.
