IR Laser Imaging Microscope

LUMOS II ILIM

The LUMOS II ILIM is the fastest chemical imaging microscope ever with a field of view of 2.2 x 2.0 mm² at 4.25 µm spatial resolution. Smart workflows dedicated to the application (tissue / particles / tablets) make your daily work easier.

That's Lightspeed.

For Infrared Imaging.

Meet the future of infrared imaging: LUMOS II ILIM

By integrating Infrared Laser Imaging (ILIM) into the LUMOS DNA we created something extraordinary. Finally, we can start thinking in images, instead of spectra. You are no longer looking at a microscope, but "Infrared Eyes" that let you characterize your samples at unprecedented level of detail and IR imaging speeds.

“We have been working in the field of tissue imaging and spectral pathology for over 20 years. One of the key barriers to clinical adoption is the long measurement times for full hyperspectral imaging of large areas of tissue. A sample set consisting of nearly 1500 prostate tissue cores, that took 3 months to measure on our old instrument, was measured in just two days on the Bruker ILIM system. This is a game changer!”

Peter Gardner, Ph.D., Professor of Analytical and Biomedical Spectroscopy, University of Manchester

The LUMOS II ILIM is packed with features

The Objective Lens

Developed by Bruker, it provides incredibly high-quality IR images by offering two things: a high numerical aperture of 0.6, and  a remarkable field of view of 2.2 mm x 2 mm.

Spatial Coherence Reduction

This patented ILIM technology is the game-changer in IR laser imaging and microscopy. It eliminates spatial coherence artefacts and allows users to create astonishing chemical images.

WinGuardTM

The LUMOS II is known and loved for its open, revolutionary design. That's why we designed a smart laser protection system that yields laser safety class 1 while remaining open access to the sample stage.

Bar Code Reader

The LUMOS II ILIM is designed for througput in routine applications. Setting up measurements by using a QR or bar code reduces possible bottlenecks of sample preparation and measurement setup.

Full Hardware Automation

Bruker systems always offer a lot of automation, but especially with a system that is as fast as LUMOS II ILIM, it becomes a necessity. 100% reliability in every measurement by simply starting up the device.

The Validation Plate

Operational and performance qualification (OQ/PQ) are super easy with our validation plate. Let  the system self-calibrate and self-validate by simply inserting it into the LUMOS II ILIM.

“By leveraging this (ILIM's) advanced measurement approach to analyze battery electrodes at a fundamental level, we have accelerated progress in green energy technology.”

Dragonfly Energy, Lithium battery technology company, United States of America.
