Expanding the Horizons of Single Cell Research

This webinar took place on June 15, 2021

Webinar Overview

Expanding the horizons of single cell research
Cutting edge proteomics experiments demand the most sensitive mass spectrometer requiring very high sensitivity with limited samples amounts. Join our webinar on “Expanding the horizons of single cell research” to hear about the quantum leap in this exciting area and get to know our latest launches on the timsTOF platform. The webinar also provides insights of the latest achievements in the field of proteomics using the timsTOF Pro, dia-PASEF® and prm-PASEF®.

Welcome and Introduction

True single-cell proteomics - One cell at a time

Latest applications of 4D-Proteomics™ using the timsTOF Pro 2

Speakers

Dr. Andreas-David Brunner,
PostDoc, Research Group of Prof. Matthias Mann, Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry, Martinsried, Germany

Andreas started his studies in 2014 at the Technical University of Munich in Molecular Biotechnology focusing on Bioorganic Chemistry, Proteomics and Systems Biology, Protein Engineering and Genetic Code Expansion and made his Master of Science in 2017. From 2017 until today he worked as a Ph.D. student at the lab of Matthias Mann. We are pleased to congratulate him as he just finished his Ph.D. in May 2021 where he focused on the development of novel workflows for the analysis of ultra-low samples amounts with a major focus on very low-flow liquid chromatography and trapped ion mobility mass spectrometry (LC-MS) in very close collaboration with R&D teams of leading industry partners. This resulted by now in 9 published manuscripts in the field of LC-MS technology development and its application to biomedical questionings that could not have been addressed before.

Gary Kruppa, Ph.D.,
Vice President Proteomics at Bruker Daltonics, Billerica, MA, USA and Managing Director of Bruker S.R.O.

Gary Kruppa currently serves as the Vice President for Proteomics at Bruker Daltonics and Managing Director of Bruker S.R.O. He manages a growing global team of over a dozen applications, field applications and applications development scientists, primarily focused on developing new proteomics applications for the timsTOF Pro, and supporting customers and collaborators.  Dr. Kruppa earned his bachelor’s degree in chemistry at the University of Delaware and his Ph. D. in chemical physics at California Institute of Technology. Dr. Kruppa has been working with Bruker since 1991, where he first joined as an applications programmer for the FTMS product line, later serving as Vice President for FTMS. From 2001 to 2004 Dr. Kruppa ran his own research lab at Sandia National Labs, where he and his team developed novel methods and reagents for chemical crosslinking of proteins for the study of protein structure. He then returned to Bruker where he served as Vice President for Business Development until 2014. From 2014 to 2016 Dr. Kruppa worked with Prof. Christoph Borchers as CEO of MRM Proteomics Inc., helping to commercialize kits for quantitative MRM proteomics analysis of potential biomarkers in plasma, urine and other biofluids.
Dr. Kruppa returned to Bruker in 2016 to serve as Vice President for Proteomics, where he helped launch the revolutionary timsTOF Pro QTOF Mass Spectrometer powered by the PASEF® method.
