Routine IFS
for unambiguous results
Compared to other FTMS techniques, the solariX and solariX 2xR feature a combination of latest MRMS, ParaCell and Magnetron control technology. This is prerequisite for the highest possible mass spec resolving power available and results in routine access to Isotopic Fine Structure (IFS) information for a broad mass range.
Patented ParaCell detector
The ParaCell is the enabling technology for solariX XR and 2xR. This detector concept is a departure from traditional MRMS cell strategies and provides uncommon broadband ion stability resulting in resolution orders of magnitude above other detection schemes. The ParaCell in combination with Absorption Mode Processing algorithms is the prerequisite for routine access to IFS information.
2xR technology realizes scientific visions and increased productivity
Bruker’s 2xR solariX instruments uses magnetron control technology and a newly developed, high sensitivity, low noise preamplifier, realizing scientists long standing vision to exploit harmonics detection schemes and thus increasing the experimental speed and instrument productivity.
Optional ESI/MALDI dual source
solariX series instruments allow for operation of a unique ESI/MALDI dual source. This optional source can either run liquid samples introduced via the electrospray ionization (ESI) source or from MALDI samples. This highly sensitive MALDI source uses Bruker’s smartbeam-II laser technology and provides several small focus diameters for various applications with different sample preparation techniques. Fast switchover between MALDI and ESI operation is controlled by a software push button, so even simultaneous ESI/MALDI operation is possible.
Read the elemental composition for confident results
IFS delivers an additional dimension of information missing in data from other types of mass spectrometers. Exploiting solariX XR and solariX 2xR IFS capability, not only is the mass of the analyte measured but also its elemental constituents pinpointed. Combined with Brukers SmartFormula algorithms, assignment of sum formulas can be done with utmost confidence.
Leverage MRMS technology leadership for your application
Bruker's eXtreme Resolution Magnetic Resonance Mass Spectrometry (MRMS) technology enables scientists to see vital "hidden" information that is missing in data from other types of mass spectrometers. This advanced technology addresses the needs of specialists in a variety of focus areas that all desire efficient and precise solutions for their analytical problems. The unique value of this technology is Isotopic Fine Structure, resulting in unmatched confidence for compound identification that previously required guesswork.

„Coming from a background in MALDI Imaging with Bruker systems, there was only one instrument I wanted – the solariX MRMS. It gave me the opportunity to develop new methods and has been a very flexible workhorse instrument. We have been able to look at almost any biomolecule of interest, and it was key to developing the N-linked glycan workflows. We continue to use it in novel ways.”
“With our Bruker MRMS in Rouen the analysis of highly complex mixtures has been pushed further than ever and could also be made on a routine basis in the framework of the C2MC joint lab.”
