Bruker Alignment Guarantee

Bruker is committed to not only provide you with the best possible instrumentation, but also to certify both highest hardware and data quality.

The Benchmark in X-ray Powder Diffraction Data Quality

Only the highest data quality can adequately represent both the value of your samples and your effort. Bruker’s quality assurance measures give you the certainty that your data is correct.
Bruker is committed to not only provide you with the best possible instrumentation, but also to certify both highest hardware and data quality. Each single instrument must successfully pass the Bruker instrument verification procedure since its introduction in 2003.

Alignment Guarantee for all D8 Diffractometers

Bruker has long been a leader in delivering the highest standards of instrument and data quality. The D8 ENDEAVOR, D8 ADVANCE family, and D8 DISCOVER stand out with a unique alignment guarantee, ensuring precision across all instrument geometries and wavelengths — as outlined in the respective Instrument Performance Verification Booklets. Unlike standard calibration practices, Bruker’s alignment guarantee specifically focuses on the meticulous alignment of hardware, not just the calibration of the angular scale. Every instrument undergoes rigorous alignment testing both before delivery and during installation, certifying unparalleled data quality:

  • For Cr, Co, and Cu systems: Peak position accuracy is ≤±0.01° 2Theta (150 mm measurement height) across the entire angular range, based on the NIST Standard Reference Material (SRM) 1976.
  • For Mo and Ag systems: Peak position accuracy is ≤±0.02° 2Theta (150 mm measurement height) across the entire angular range, based on the Bruker Tungsten Reference Material.

Particularly demanding applications require even more accurate and reliable peak positions. The D8 DISCOVER Plus with ATLAS pushes spatial accuracy even further:

  • Highest data quality in both the equatorial and axial planes thanks to superior beam stability
  • For Cu and Co systems: Peak position accuracy is ≤±0.007° 2Theta across the entire angular range, based on the NIST Standard Reference Material (SRM) 1976.

The most current NIST SRM 1976 and / or Bruker Tungsten Reference Material are always included with an instrument, as applicable.

Optionally, all necessary procedures are available to easily comply with cGMP requirements, facilitating Operational Qualification (OQ) and Performance Qualification (PQ).

The ATLAS Goniometer: Industry Leading Accuracy – Guaranteed!

For particularly demanding applications that require even more accurate and reliable peak positions, shape and intensity, Bruker takes data quality to the next level: the advanced goniometer design of the ATLAS delivers the highest angular positioning accuracy, increasing the reliability of measured data. At the heart of every D8 DISCOVER Plus solution, the ATLAS pushes the complete solution alignment guarantee even further:

  • Guaranteed angular accuracy ≤ ±0.007° 2Theta over the entire angular range determined on the peak position of NIST SRM 1976
  • Increased spatial accuracy providing highest beam position stability in both the equatorial and axial planes
  • Verification of the certified relative intensities and instrument resolution (FWHM)
  • Optional IQOQ procedures for regulated industries such as the pharma industry based on the instrument verification booklet, facilitating operational qualification (OQ) after installation of upgrades or repairs performance qualification (PQ) at any time.

D6 PHASER - No need for benchtop compromises

The D6 PHASER offers unrivaled data quality and acquisition speed in a benchtop X-ray diffraction system. It is the perfect solution for all powder diffraction applications from phase identification and quantitative phase analysis to crystal structure and PDF analysis due to its superior resolution, low angle and low background performance.
Bruker AXS also guarantees unparalleled instrument accuracy of ±0.01° 2Theta or better over the angular range using verified Bruker alignment standards. A rigorous instrument verification protocol ensures accurate and precise data for all applications.
