This initiative to help underprivileged children in developing countries is making a huge difference to people's lives. We plan to continue this project, which has become an ongoing charity program at Bruker France.
In 2017 and 2019, the workers' council of Bruker France, organized trips to Nepal and Kenya. Many participants took school supplies such as pens and stationery to donate to underprivileged children in the region. The workers council and the management board of Bruker France wished to continue this act of giving and so began a formal collection of school supplies within the company.
To ensure a co-ordinated effort that maximized all resources, a centralized collection point was designated and employees were encouraged to give notebooks, pencils, pens, felt-tip pens and other small, easily portable school supplies rather than bulky and cumbersome items.
Rather than use intermediaries such as courier firms, Bruker employees have taken all items directly, to ensure that all donated supplies reach those who really need than. Mickaël Prestini, for example, from the Bruker BioSpin SLS-division in France, has carried the donations with him on professional trips to India and personally distributed them to schools in some of the poorest villages there.
The donations have been shared between two schools in India: the Mahabalipuram Primary School and Chennai Primary School.
All these donations would not have been possible without the generous support of all Bruker France employees, and we thank everyone involved in this huge effort.
